The fourth annual Ryerson Rams Hockey Alumni fund raiser golf tournament was played on July 5, 2003 at Hockley Valley Resort.
After last year's winning team was dismantled, the door was left wide open for the championship award to change hands.
Several days before the tournament, a young fellow by the name of Jamie Byck issued a challenge. He claimed his group was going to be the champions this year, without a doubt, and predicted their score would be -10. Well, they only came in with a -9 and were tied for first with Marco Sestito's group, but by using the retrogression tie breaking method, the Byck group came out on top because they were winning after 17 holes.
So, as much as we hate to admit it, congratulations are in order to Jamie Byck, John Byck, Mike Byck and Jason Rasmussen for a job well done. They talked the talk but they backed it up by walking the walk. Please make sure the four of you come back next year to defend your title. Seriously, great job guys!!!
Other prizes were handed out to Tim Pompeo, who won both the closest to the hole & the longest drive, and Jason Rasmusson, who won the putting contest by sizzling through our six hole putting course in 10 strokes. Congratulations to both of you for your fine performances.
The Ryerson Rams Hockey Alumni and the current Ryerson Rams would like to thank all of the individuals who participated in the tournament and a special thanks goes out to those who helped organize the tournament, namely, Chuck Mathies, Greg McMillan, Mark McMillan, Mick Mitrovic, Ed Kirsten, David Dubois, Jamie Sheppard and the rest of the staff at Hockley Valley Resort.

This years prize table was the best we've ever had with an estimate of close to $2000 worth of donated prizes. Some of the notable prizes were, a complimentary round of golf for 2 at Hockley Valley, a weekend convertible car rental, a weekend for 2 at a first class hotel in Ottawa and several pairs of tickets to various local events.
