After five years of running an independent golf tournament, the Ryerson Rams Hockey Alumni and Sports and Recreation combined efforts to host a fund-raising golf tournament at Wild Winds Golf and Country Club, located north of Acton in Rockwood, Ontario.
All proceeds went to the Ryerson Rams General Bursary Fund. Registrants and sponsors were allowed to direct their portion to their sport of choice.
A tip of the hat goes out to all of the golfers who participated, especially those who have no real connection to Ryerson, our sponsors (listed on the left, especially WildWinds and Coca Cola), everyone who donated prizes, our volunteers (Lorraine Sheffield, Liz Devine & Roger Marszalek), the athletic Department (David Dubois, Bibi Rahaman, Patrick Williams) and the coaches who recruited golfers and sponsors (Sonia Henri, Mick Mitrovic, Peyvand Mossavat & Mirek Porosa).
A special thanks goes out to hockey alumnus Scott Spike and the role he played in securing Wild Winds Golf Course and of course, Brian Walker (Head Pro), Lori McIlmoyl (Food & Beverage Manager) and the rest of the staff at Wild Winds for bending over backwards for us. I'm beginning to wonder if these people ever say no. They've accommodated virtually everything we've tossed on the table.
Our day would not have been such a success without all of you.
