The Ryerson Rams Hockey Alumni 11th annual golf day was held on Tuesday July
27, 2010 at
Granite Ridge Golf Course, located 3 km north of Hwy 401 & Hwy 25 in Milton, ON. Granite Ridge is about 17 minutes west of the Toronto Airport.
All net proceeds go to the Ryerson Rams Varsity Hockey Program. 61 people
attended, including Ryerson Hockey Alumni spanning 7 decades, and approximately $4000 was raised
for the hockey program.
We would like to thank all of our sponsors (listed on the left) and all prize
donors for their
generous support.
A tip of the hat goes to the players from the late 1950's
and early 1960's who, with 21 attendees, outnumbered players from all other eras.
Their fearless ring leader, Don DesJardine from Owen Sound, ON, should be
commended for his recruiting efforts and for getting these guys back together
after 50 years.
Special thanks also goes out to our tournament volunteers,
current player, Matt Schmermund, and
super- human, Erin MacDonald. Both
arrived early and helped stuff loot bags and worked the check-in table
greeting guests, collecting money and selling raffle tickets. Then Erin, a Ryerson Alumni
Relations Officer, set up the prize table while the players were on the course, ran the putting contest
& took photos of each foursome as they passed through at the turn, spoke at the dinner,
assisted with the prize drawing and then they both helped clean up at the end of
the day. FROM ALL OF US, THANKS FOR YOUR SUPER
EFFORT!
