The 9th annual Blue & White, Ryerson Rams Hockey Alumni game was held at George Bell Arena in Toronto from 5:00 pm to 6:00 pm Saturday January 27th prior to the Rams vs. Concordia game.

A reception for the Ryerson Rams Hockey Alumni and Current Rams' parents was held after the Alumni game in a room that was set up at the arena. Everyone enjoyed the mingling, catered food and a beverage or two, or three.

Special thanks goes out to the Ryerson's Athletic Department's Darcy Flynn and the Ryerson Alumni Office's Anjela Wilson for their help in organizing the event and the reception. They did a great job!!!

Another tip of the hat should go to x-Ram Jason Kotack for all his efforts in recruiting players and getting the lineup straightened out for TEAM WHITE. In his unofficial role as coach and captain, he made things flow much more smoothly than they normally would have.

Although Team Blue went into this game with all the confidence in the world that they were going to come out on top this year, Carm Giurleo, TEAM WHITE'S goal tender, saw to it that the outcome did not change for the fourth year in a row. Although this game was much closer than last year, TEAM WHITE emerged from the nail biter with a 5-4 victory.

The current Rams Team played to a regulation time draw with Concordia, only to go down in defeat with just over a minute to play in overtime also by a score of 5-4.  Concordia stole victory from the jaws of defeat as the Rams were up 4-3 with 2 minutes left in the third period.  This is the first time the Rams have lost on Alumni Night in 4 years.

RAMS ALUMNI GAME HIGHLIGHTS

TEAM WHITE jumped to 2-0 first period lead and were never overtaken by TEAM BLUE.   Each time TEAM BLUE got a sniff at tying the game, TEAM WHITE would score or Carm Giurleo would come up with one of his many spectacular saves.  Rumour has it that Carm was approached by Rams' coaching staff and asked about his eligibility. Not to be outdone, 63 year old Bob Stoddart, the oldest player in the game, made some stellar Gumby-like saves at the other end to keep TEAM BLUE within striking distance.

The battle went as follows:  1-0, 2-0, 2-1, 3-1, 3-2, 4-2, 4-3, 5-3 and 5-4.
