The game was played prior to the Rams vs RMC game at 2:00pm and the Rams won their game 7-2, much to the delight of their predecessors in the stands.

In the Alumni game, Team White appeared bound to continue their winning ways when they jumped into a very quick 2-0 lead early in the first period.  However, Team Blue rookie Daniel Care would have none of that.  By the time the first period had ended, Team Blue had scored 5 unanswered goals, 4 by Care who netted his first two in a 22 second span.   

Another highlight of the game was, after arriving late, Alex Fex stepped on the ice for his first shift of the game in the second period and it took him about 10 seconds to score a goal.  Alex is a member of the Ryerson Sports Hall of Fame and played on the championship team of 1962.  He was the most experienced player in the game by at least 5 yeas.

When all was said and done, after falling short for 6 straight years, Team Blue finally got to savour a taste of victory with what ended up being a 10-3 win but that's really not what this day is all about. 

In the "meeting" room after the game, the score was quickly forgotten and the recent acquisition of Maple Leaf Gardens as the new home of the Rams quickly became the hot topic of discussion. 

A special thanks goes out to Ryerson's Manager Of Interuniversity Sports, Beth Ali, who picked up the food tab for the event.  Also deserving a tip of the hat are, Alumni Officers Anjela Wilson and Erin MacDonald, our faithful volunteer Latoya Dixon, who ran the bar and did a great job, Ivan Joseph and the rest of the Athletic Department for their backing and support, the Rams game-day staff for showing up early for our game and Rams coach Graham Wise for helping out with our event and leading his team to victory for us on Alumni Day.
