Andrew Brode – October 2013

It breaks my heart to share with you some very sad news regarding a Ryerson Rams Hockey Alumnus.
Andrew Brode lost his battle with Leukemia after fighting for more than 2 years. He was 33 years old. Andrew was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia on June 2nd, 2011 and battled hard every day to try to beat this ugly disease. He lost his life at Mt. Sinai Hospital on Monday October 14th, 2013.
Many of you had the pleasure of playing on the Ryerson Varsity team with Andrew or in years past at the many Alumni games. He was a remarkable human being who always left a smile on the faces of his friends and teammates. He will be sorely missed!
A funeral service was held in Mississauga on Monday October 21st.
Please keep him in your thoughts. RIP Andrew. You were taken from us far too soon.
