Ryerson Rams Hockey Alumni Suffer Another Loss
Gary Potter
February 17, 1951 ~ August 10, 2024

On Saturday, August 10, 2024, Gary Potter passed away at 73 years of age. Gary played for the Rams the first year the team moved up to the OUAA from the OCAA and was one of our first RRHA members. He played in the 2nd Annual RRHA Alumni Hockey Game in 2000 at St. Mikes Arena and in the inaugural RRHA Golf Tournament at Mill Run Golf Club the following summer.

The first couple RRHA Golf Tournaments were held at Mill Run Golf Course because Shirley, Gary’s wife, worked there and was in charge of tournament bookings. So Gary and Shirley played instrumental roles in getting our RRHA ball rolling when we were in our infancy. Gary owned an automotive brake business which sponsored a hole at several of our early golf tournaments.

Every once in a while, Gary and a 1970-71 teammate or two would show up for a game or event at the MAC and it was always great to see them.

Please join us in expressing condolences to Gary’s family, friends and his immediate RAMILY.

ONCE A RAM, ALWAYS A RAM
