Ted Woods, Manager of the Ryerson Rams men’s hockey team in 1960-61 and the championship Ryerson Sports Hall Of Fame team of 1961-62 has had the Ryerson Rams hockey equipment room named after him. Ted and his good friend, RRHA member Paul Cook, dropped the puck at the Rams game on November 1, 2018 and Ted’s name plate was unveiled in the dressing room hallway with many teammates, family and other RRHA members present.
Following the lead of his good friend & RRHA member, the late Don DesJardine, Ted has donated a significant financial legacy to the men’s hockey program. He has also been known to bring his cheque book to most RRHA events over the years. Interim Athletic Director, Jeff Giles, Head Coach John Duco and Assistant Team Manager in 1961-62 and 1962-63, RRHA member Dave Woodburn, were among the speakers at the presentation.
Director of Development at Ryerson, James Barnett, hosted the evening which was highlighted by a tribute video that can be viewed at this link … VIEW VIDEO
To top off the evening, Rams defeated Brock 4-3 with a very late goal, much to the delight of Ted’s entourage watching the game from the north/east box seats.
